Indulge Your Curiosity

Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves.

Like locked rooms and books that are now written in a very foreign tongue- do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given to you because you would not be able to live them. The point is: to live everything; live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.

-Rainer Maria Rilke

Questions are the engines of intellect; questions convert curiosity into controlled inquiry.*

Often times in the pursuit of ambitions, dreams and goals we forget to stop for a moment and pay attention to the now. Anxiety and frustration- the symptoms of not seeing ‘progress’ flood over us; in the hot pursuit of the getting to the next event, the next promotion, the next activity: we forget to live with awareness.

Let’s try to pay attention to all the intricacies of life that surround us; from the bumbling of bees to the fall of leaves: notice everything. Ask questions, wonder, indulge once again into your child like curiosity. Why? Simply because noticing the technicolor landscape around you will give you a brand new perspective; and who knows.. perhaps equipped with another perspective you will find what you desire.

My inspiration for synthesizing this piece came form my reading of Warren Berger’s book: A More Beautiful Question
